Hey Stephen, just checking in. What have you guys been up to lately? Have you had the K5 out in a while? I never saw pics from EJS, did you attend? Just curious as to what you are up to these days. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Yeah, we made the mad rush to get ready and the big trek to EJS, there's some pics on the thread on this page, I think from Upper Helldorado.
Since then? A bunch of top secret hush hush mumbo jumbo hocus pocus pixie dust development.
Things like the adapter plate to convert a 10 spline SM465 to 32 spline, refining the D60 high steer arms, some work on the resident tube chassis, refining the 3 stick shifter for the Doubler and single 205, etc.

I checked out the pics - your rig is really looking good. Did you move the Radiator to the bed? Someone really needs to visit your shop with a Digital Camera! /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif Take pics of everything!

Do you give tours like the Brewery? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

What tour did you get, all I ever see there is a lot of cussing, butt scratching and belching. /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

Radiator's still in roughly the stock location, it defines the width of the nose. I'd like to move everything (engine, rad, winch) back a little but it's all built as close as it can get now without major mods. I'm running about 60% front weight now and that's the way it's going to be. I did weigh it at about 5100-5200# Almost a lightweight!

If that K5 does not have what you think of as "Major Mods" I hate to see what you think Major mods are. /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif

I guess in this case, "major" is moving the motor back which would involve all kinds of work, or moving the axle forward which really screws up a lot of precise work locating the axle, steering, etc.
Just to put it in perspective, imagine taking all the work we've done and throwing it out the window.....
That's major, especially when I'm under pressure to get the kid's seats in and finish the panels so stuff doesn't come flying in on us.

They're $250 for the kit, or $85.00 for the upgrade if you already have a 2 stick shifter.
