My TH400 is in good condition. The Highway is killing me though. I just cant take the noise. Anyway, heres my specs:

    6.2L / TH400 / NP208 with 4.10's.

Is there a place I can order a rebuilt 700r4 to go into my diesel without the BS of swapping shafts, and getting adapters and all that crap. I just wanna REMOVE TH400 and INSERT 700R4. If I have to move crossmember back or forward thats no big deal. I dont want to have to modify much. Will I need longer driveshafts, shorter driveshafts ? if so, can I get them off another truck with a 6.2 and 700R4. ALSO were 700R4's ever factory Trannys on a 6.2 and if so, what trucks were they mostly found on.

I want this as simple as possible.

You will need the 700 and the 208 together.
All light duty 3/4ton and all half ton diesels came with the 700/208 combo.
I am sure a lot would like to trade with you, which I think might make you change your mind.
The only bad thing about the th400 is the RPM's, the only thing good about the 700 is the RPM's

If you want I will trade ya the whole assembly.
The tranny was rebuilt and then the engine started to act up so I parked it.

You still need to figure out the driveshaft length.

Will bigger tires let me go faster with less RPM's.

Say at 55mph its turning fast RPMS. If i went to say 35's, will the engine be less noisy at the same 55mph

I was going to suggest that.
I did that myself, I have 35" tires on 308 gears, I don't have to worry about trannies since it's the sm465 /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
The diesel still pulls it no problem, I am even thinking of going 38 now.

Keep what you have and go with bigger tires. I have 35s with 3.73s and dont put in overdrive unless im going 65, 70. What size tires do you have?
