What\'s on your floor pan? Carpet or Mat?

Looking to buy the floor interior for the blazer and was needing to how many of you have used carpet and are happy with it. What would you use if you had your choice? Also where would you get the best(not cheapo) carpet from?
    Thanks,
    Matthew

Nothing but old paint and bare metal with some rust for bad luck too.

Depends on what the truck is for. If your muddin' or crossing a river the obvious choice is mats or a liner. If it's a daily driver my preference is carpet.

When I lived above Soda Springs we had 7' of snow on the ground then it rained 12" in 24 hrs. The carpet in my CJ7 got soaked cause the only place left for the water to go was in the road. The carpet was bolted down under the front seats so I coundn't just pull it out. I had a sheet of ice on the floor boards for a couple of weeks till I went to Sac on a dry day and took the top off to let it dry out. Since then I don't want carpet on a 4x4 trail rig. I want to get the padded MIP rubber mats LMC has now for mine. /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

i think the smartest thing is to do a spray on bedliner.then you dont have to worry about rust from the interior.this is what i'll be doing eventially anyway.

RUST! I have some correct carpet brand new in the garage for a 69-72 if you need it. It is brand new, never installed. It came from LMC. It's the correct loop style, in Brown. Front, rear, & wheels wells. I am doing the Line X, as my K5 will be a beach rig.

I would prefer spray on bedliner but the paint-on liner seems to be holding up pretty well. The hump is just painted flat black.

Mine came with a mat, but I'm going to put carpet into it. It's too freakin' loud inside the thing without some insulation.

Oh, I'm going to bed-line the floor before I put carpet into it (after I fix the rust holes).

Steve have you looked in the new LMC catalog at he MIP molded rubber mats with the pad? Just like carpet but you can wash the floors out with a hose. I think that may be the answer for a trail truck. They use something simular in big rigs trucks and it helps keep the noise and heat out with out the matience of carpet.

I wish the carpet you had was black! I was thinking of bedlining the inside then carpeting it. What is the best thing for keeping the noise and heat out? Do you use that felt type pad like is in trucks?
