What do y'all recommend? Rubber, cork, RTV, bubble gum etc etc. Cost is not a factor.......

I use VICTOR-REINZ 5/16" thick cork-rubber gaskets. Twicce as thick as std gaskets. I think thr # is vs38110htc. Never had a leak with this gasket.

I use Felpro, I can't remember what they call it but it is cork and has metal inbetween two pices of cork so it's double thick! I have had no leakage sence I put theas super thick cork ones on!

I use Felpro also.I put them on dry (no RTV) and torque them to spec.

If you are confident in your work, (valve adjustments) just weld them on....

I like the Felpro ribbed rubber on both sides and metal in the middle. They cost a lot more than a piece of cork or paper, but you can reuse them and no messing with the cure time of RTV. And most importantly, they don't leak. I suppose that a small block Chevy that doesn't leak oil is kind of like a politician that doesn't lie...

I had some Fel-Pro perma dry plus rubber gaskets and they liked to leak. I do have alumminum edelbrock valve covers which have a differnt flange than stock so I guess its probably not the gaskets fault. I switch to the Fel-Pro blue stripe cork gaskets and have not had a leak since.
