Cheyenne is the 'trim level'. 'Silverado' is the top of the line model, and I beleive the Cheyenne was the base model.

Power options, A/C, and the like were the differences.

Usually stuff like power windows, power door locks, cruise control, air conditioning, power rear window, possibly a better factory stereo, bells and whistles basically. Mechanically they are the same truck.

Well thats the way I like them, nice and simple. Unfortunately my truck came with the bells and whistles, and I'm forever trying to keep some of it working. I believe my truck was a relatively rare combination of options. It had PW,PDL,PRW, A/C and all that fancy stuff, but it came with a 4 speed standard. I know there are others like it option wise, but the great majority with the 4 speed from the factory were base models.

My personal favourite is "Custom Deluxe" -- My dad's didn't even have a headliner or a radio! How's that for custom. ;)
