Q: What are the two BEST days you can have?

A: The day you order ORD parts, and the day they arrive!

    Q: What's the WORST day...?

A: All the days in between!!!!! /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

Eric, I would be interested to find out if when you get your shackles they actually fit. I went to install mine today to find out the bushings for the springs are too small, the bolts are also smaller than my factory bolts, and also the shackles are the same length as my originals. The only part that actually fit was the frame bushings but they don't do me any good without the rest fitting also.

Re: What\'s the wait for the front shackles?

There are two differant size bushings, depends on what sprngs you have.

ORD made sure I measured, since I do not know what manufacturer springs they are. Surprised they did not do the same for you.

Have you called ORD and explained your problem to them?

Re: What\'s the wait for the front shackles?

    Scott,
in 89 gm went to a 1/2" longer stock shackle wich is the same length as the ORD shackle plate. All the stock front shackle bolts are 7/16". The ORD greaseable ones are 1/2". The bushing question is something I had a problem with also. GM had several difrent size spring and shackle bushings, with what semes to be no real rule of thumb. Add after-market springs and who knows with out measuring. I have all the right stuff now, and it realy was no problem.

I ordered all the greasable fitting's and the front shackles for my BDS springs last Weds. or Thurs.. We probably placed about the exact same order. Anyway they arrived today, now I just have to get the springs.

Re: What\'s the wait for the front shackles?*UPDATE*

We're working on delivery times, being a small business it's pretty easy to run out of one part for a couple weeks from time to time. When we carry enough differet parts we're always out of something.

On the front shackles for the -88-91, they're right on, GM made them longer (same length as ours) and on some went to a 9/16 (maybe metric) bolt on the bottom. The top stayed 7/16". The problem with the bigger bolt is there still isn't enough room to get a sleeve and a decent bushing in the spring eye, so we uniformly "upgrade" the shackles by giving you a smaller bolt.
incindentally, we tested the strength of our bolts by breaking one that had been drilled and the threads came apart, not the head. And it took over 150 ft-lb of torque to do it. The 1/2" grade 8's are pretty durable for the front shackles.

I was happy with the delivery time. Already got the suspension bushings installed. It took a week after my credit card was charged. Now just waiting for the reasr u-bolts and the doubler to come.

    Thanks
