I've been trying for a few days to get to www.cardomain.com but I can't get there, "the operation timed out when attempting to contact www.cardomain.com".

Does it work for you or is my computer screwed up? Cardomain down?

Could be a browser glitch , or in your router/modem/firewall etc .

It happens to me occasionally at home with busy sites , I just click it again and usually it goes right about its business and pulls the site up . It really only occurs to me on sites NWOCF :D

Ok, I dragged out my old laptop that hasn't been used in months and I still can't go to cardomain using either firefox or explorer. I can go to any other site just fine, and up to about a week ago I could go to cardomain with my dektop puter. What could happen to a router or modem to cause this?

It could be, and most likely is, a DNS problem. Try going here:
http://64.124.186.168. If you're probably having a DNS problem. If you can't reach that, the site must be somehow blocked or using content you can't load.

Go to a command prompt (Start->Run-"CMD" <enter>), and at the prompt:

-type (without quotes) "nslookup cardomain.com" <enter>
-you should get a response that ends like this:
If you don't get that IP address, lean toward a DNS problem. If you do get that address, you have some other problem.
You might want to try power cycling your router if that's what you use to connect to the cable/dsl modem. After a cycle, it should get the right DNS servers from your ISP, and hopefully be able to resolve the name properly again.

I just noticed the site uses a lot of flash. We had this weird issue at work a while back where some people couldn't get to the AOL homepage after a certain OS patch was installed on their computer, until they re-installed the macromedia flash player (from macromedia.com). Maybe you're having a similar problem (if they changed something on their end that required a newer version of flash or something).

I clicked the link and "operation timed out when..."

I power cycled my modem and router about a week ago when I first had the problem.

Downloaded and installed the new flash player, still no worky.

Nope, after about 1 1/2 to 2 weeks of it not working it just decided to start working again. My brother said it may be my ISP?

Thanks for helping with it :thumb:

Yes... The outernet will be here soon. It will be the biggest thing since the wheel.

I was really bored the other day, so I sent an old freind this email out of the blue, subject line "Another Biz idea":

"Hey, what do you think of a system that interconnects computers, so people could exchange ideas and stuff? We could call it something like "the web"."

He replied and said, "Some loser in california tried that already and it was a total failure. Guys name was like Bill Gates or Steve Jobs or something. Total dork, probably broke and homeless today."
