    Unfortunately, I forgot to test the Cable speed before I disconnected it. It took a bit to remember www.pcpitstop.com where you can test the download/upload speed. Of course it varies a lot depending on how crowded the internet is, but I got this result this morning with DSL.

    I have no idea what this stuff means but here it is.

    Download speed: 4179 kilobits per second
    Test details: 3354 kilobytes downloaded in 6.42 seconds

    not bad for crappy computer, and cable!



    i thought this was a repost but the test is different that one if you did it aseconed time your speed would be as fast a a t1 line or something because it checked the history i guess

    'ell I forgot I'm using a wireless router and it is 802.11B.................need to upgrade to the "G" router!

    This is pretty 'normal' for our cable lately. Even a year ago north of 3000 kilobits was 'normal'.

    I need to get more DSL info, or bitch at my current provider about the speed. I'm not getting half what they advertise and haven't for a long time now.
