Hi there, can a machine shop increase or decrease a wheel's backspacing? I was planning to buy new wheels with different backspacing than the ones I currently have, but a friend of mine told that he altered the backspacing for the wheels on his truck at the machine shop, and they work just fine. Could it be done with good results? Thanx

To do that, the entire center secetion of the wheel would have to be cut out and re-welded in. Assuming steel wheels of course. I don't know how the alloys work. I'd just go buy some new wheels. I'd bet it'll be alot cheaper. /forums/images/icons/grin.gif
