I'm in for HC. We can cut through Shrine pass and save some time getting there. I need to get out of the house badly too!

Not at all, Holy Cross is a pretty easy trail actually, a few spots might be tricky but overall not extreme at all.

Well it looks like we know the where.

Now we need to figure out the when. What time does everybody want to meet? I'd like to leave as early as possible since alot of people use that trail.

I'd like to know if I could make it in my 88 Burb w/ 36" hummer tires and a 6" lift w/ minimal damage? If so, how far from Co Springs is Holy Cross? Anyway, just throwing around the idea? Maybe I could follow someone coming from/going through the Springs.

    Thanks.

It's been a while since I did this trail but if I remember right there would only be one trickey spot and I think we could get you trough it fine, there used to be a tree that made it real hard for full-sizes but some ass-hat pulled it out.

    Thanks Steve.

So how far is it to Holy Cross & is there somewhere that I could fill up my gas tank when I got there?

Also, anyone going from C/S or so (Gorilla?)? If I understand it correctly, I could go out 24 to Fairplay from C/S. Just wanting to know. I put a feeler out to my wife this AM about weekend plans and she hasn't issued them /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif to me yet. So, there's a chance!! /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

Doug, Try this Holy Cross Range
It's just south of Red Cliff on the right hand side. I think they have a camping sign by the road.
You can zoom in or out on the map BTW. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
If you zoom in one click and go south, look for Homestake creek. If you follow the creek (trail) up you will see Holy Cross City but we meet at the bottom and of course, go up together. Hope this helps. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif
