when should an 700R change gears?

    At what rpm's on 5.7 should the 700R change from first to second, second to third and so on, when it is floored. It is on a 1992 2500.

    you have to adjust the cable to determint that... by the throttle linkage there is a cable that does down to your tranny, and there is a small D shapped place on the cable that you press a screw driver into. that will allow you to shorten or lenghten the slack in the cable until you feel comfortable with where it shifts.

    WOT they shift late.
    1-2 shift around 35-40mph
    2-3 shift around 65mph
    3-4 shift never if you leave your foot to the floor.
