I see there are several after-market companies who sell Blazer body parts (LMC, etc...), but who sells Jimmy parts? I'm looking for a radiator support assy (71 model) with 4 headlights and a replacement grill. That darn tree jumped in front of me. Any info is appreciated. JT

Ummm dude unless I'm stupid Blazer parts are the same as Jimmy parts[IMG]So every thing is the same except the grill not saying GMC on it,so for a grill maybe a trip too the junkyard could be in order.

the new LMC cat. has GMC front grills for almost every year. i find that when searching for parts at a store or a yard or online i get more hits when i say that i have an '86 K5 Blazer, but i have a Jimmy. the only diff between the two are the emblems and color schemes (sp?)......
but everyone knows GMC is better anyway......:-)

Boy, not a lot of experts on 1st gen Blazer / Jimmy here huh. The radiator support (4 headlights vs. 2), grill, front fenders, bumper, and few other things are different. Check the '67 - '72 parts board at http://216.221.190.187/board/, there are a few guys there who specialize in '67 - '72 parts that will have used parts for a good price (GMCPaul, Wes, CPNE, Mothertruckers). Good luck, and stay away from the trees.

Uh, yup, the bodies are the same. The front ends are different (four headlights instead of two which means different rad support which is the main structure of the front end). The grill is completely different and is not interchangeable with the Chevy. The only parts which are different between Chevy and GMC are the ones I need. My LMC catalogs do not have these items for the GMC.(6 months old cat). I'll check with them for a newer version.
    Thanks, JT

    JST12,
I've got the latest LMC catalog at home and as I remember they only carry second generation K5 stuff. I recommend calling them and asking them who does carry first generation GMC parts. If a customer service rep answers, you might want to ask for someone in their tech department, they should know.
Have you tried JC Whitney, I can't remember if they carry first generation items or not, good luck.

It's not what you buy, it's what you build!

Blazer, Jimmy , Jimmy, Blazer.. Same parts just different grilles and emblems.. I should know.. I have a Blaz-Jimmy
My Blazer is 70% Blazer, and 30% Jimmy.
I should just call it a Heinz 57 truck.. lol .

It's better to have it and not need it. Than to need it and not have it !

Hey, are you the one with the two wall top? Call me!!!
No,GMC vs. Chevy front. The hood is the only thig that matches(fenders, grill, radiator suport,& it does not have engine emblems)on the out-side!!!
I know where two Jimmies are!!
I have both GMC & Chevy in the yard now!!
