Getting ready to re-angle my 14 bolt so I can install my CV shaft I ordered yesterday. But I need to find some new perches. I could use the old ones if they survive the cut off. But they are those big ass solid ones that came from the factory and are rusted pretty good.
Boss, Wes anyone??? I already called Stephen. No dice.

I remember Summit was selling them, about $20 for the pair or each, I forgot.
But, I re-used mine. I was careful when I grinded them off. Clean the rust off with a wire wheel, and you'll see that it's really "all good." (unless the rust is pitted ofcourse).

I have a brand new pair that I bought from summit, but ended up not using them. Let me know if you are interested.

You can look at your local RV or 4x4 offroad store if you have one.

Well, I made mine out of 2.5" square 1/4 wall tube. You can also go to a leaf spring shop and they should sell them. National Spring, Alcan, take your pick if you want mail order.

Any place that is mail is good. But dont want to E-auction crap. Alcan didn't look like a place that sold stuff like that.

If they don't survive the cutting, you could bring what you have left, along with the measurement of the axle tube diameter and a machine shop/welding and fabricating place should be able to custom make some heavy duty units for around $25. Just a thought

14 bolts don't have a 3" tube. My 14 bolt SF has 3 3/8" tubes. No way a full floater has the same size tubes as a 10 or 12 bolt.

You don't have to really move your perches anyway though, you can use shims to avoid this. Just shim your pinion angle all the way up and you'll be in good shape.

Everybody's favorite shop, 4-Wheel Parts, has them hanging on the wall in their Colorado Springs store. [IMG] They had them for 3 or 4 different axle tube diameters.

Tim, he's going to be using a CV shaft for the rear...so a 14 degree shim prolly isn't gonna be a good idea...[IMG]

Nobody moves perches without finding out there is no other option first.

Brandon, I PM'd you. I gave you the clickable to Depdogs page on his home built perches.

BTW, on his write up, he stated he used 3" square tubing. Dont use 3". Use the 2 1/2" square tubing because thats how wide your leaf springs are.

Well, Im getting ready to call and see if I can have some made at the local fab shop. But on the width. I seem to remember my skyjacker springs being wider than my perches. So I might need to go with a 3" wide perch. I'll have to measure. But its at home and Im at work.
Can anyone else measure real quick and tell me how wide the skyjacker springs are? Thanks!!

Brandon, why don't you get the set off of Blazerboy? $15 sounds like a good deal...
