Someone sent me this I thought maybe some of you all would like to see this.
But then maybe you already have.

    GASOLINE SOLUTION!

We CAN buy gasoline that's not from Middle East. Why didn't George W. think
of this? Gas rationing in the 80's worked even though we grumbled about it
It might even be good for us!

The Saudis are boycotting American goods. We should return the favor. An
interesting thought is to boycott their GAS. Every time you fill up the
car, you can avoid putting more money into the coffers of Saudi Arabia.
Just buy from gas companies that don't import their oil from the Saudis.

Nothing is more frustrating than the feeling that every time I fill-up the
tank, I am sending my money to people who are trying to kill me, my family,
and my friends. I thought it might be interesting for you to know which oil
companies are the best to buy gas from and which major companies import
Middle Eastern oil (for the period 9/1/00 - 8/31/01):

    Shell............................205,742,000 barrels
    Chevron/Texaco.........144,332,000 barrels
    Exxon /Mobil................130,082,000 barrels
    Marathon/Speedway...117,740,000 barrels
    Amoco.........................62,231,000 barrels

If you do the math at $30/barrel, these imports amount to over $18 BILLION!

Here are some large companies that do not import Middle Eastern oil:

    Citgo....................0 barrels
    Sunoco............. ..0 barrels
    Conoco............. ..0 barrels
    Sinclair............... 0 barrels
    BP/Phillips.......... 0 barrels
    Hess...................0 barrels

All of this information is available from the Department of Energy and each
is required to state where they get their oil and how much they are
    importing. They report on a monthly basis. Keep this list in your car;
share it with friends. Stop paying for terrorism.............

But to have an impact, we need to reach literally millions of gas buyers.
It's really simple to do!! Now, don't wimp out at this point...keep reading
and I'll explain how simple it is to reach millions of people!!

I'm sending this note to about thirty people. If each of you send it to at
least ten more (30 x 10 = 300)... and those 300 send it to at least ten
more (300 x 10 = 3,000) ... and so on, by the time the message reaches the
sixth generation of people, we will have reached over THREE MILLION
consumers! If those three million get excited and pass this on to ten
friends each, then 30 million people will have been contacted! If it goes
one level further, you guessed it..... THREE HUNDRED MILLION PEOPLE!!!

Again, all you have to do is send this to 10 people. How much would all
that take? If each of us sends this e-mail out to ten more people within
one day all 300 MILLION people could conceivably be contacted within the
    next eight days!

I would like to add one thing to this. We are paying those terrorist 12
billion a day for gas.. I think the time has come for us to take a stand
and do what this article suggests.

It something to think about /forums/images/graemlins/deal.gif

If we all started buying only from companies that didn't import any oil and increased their market share by even 100% in short order they would need to start importing oil.

Secondly, this would also go pretty far towards depleting the US supply of oil when it may be needed the most.

Buying gas or driving a car or truck does not fund terrorism. Oil doesn't only come from Iraq. Venezuela is a huge supplier of world oil, in fact the recent labor dispute there is part of the reason oil prices are up while supply is down a little. Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Russia and Canada are also big suppliers.

Overall, taking the non-imported oil view is more harmful than good IMO.

Lastly, Iraq still sells there oil in a trade for food unless I'm mistaken and Afganistan sells none anyways.

I buy from Tesoro and it is a few cents cheaper than other stations around the area. It has a sign on the pump that states it is based in Houston. I didn't see it listed on your post. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Your point is well taken Rene.
I still don't know where I stand on this, I do know I don't get my Fuel at any place that get imported oil.
This was done way before I saw this, Here in Denver I get my fuel at Coastal on Fridays they knock Six cents off the premium, Tonight 91 oct. was 1.56 a gal while mid grade was 1.57 a gal.
I don't know where Coastal get their Fuel at, they also weren't on the list

The biggest problem with your solution is that 90% of the time the local gas stations are getting whatever fuel the distributer has at the time. Just because you buy gas from the local exxon doesn't mean exxon is the company that refined the petroleum.

There are fuel hubs scattered everywhere and supply fuel to all the stations in the surrounding area. They normally rotate the supply lines between the different oil companies. The only thing that makes the gas whatever name brand you are buying is the additives the tanker truck adds to the fuel tanks on delivery.

Found that little bit of info while I was a manager for Total Petroleum.

It says these companies import oil from middle eastern countries. The rest of the oil companies import as well, just from different sources, like the countries you mentioned. Just thought I would throw that in.

If we could convert our rigs to run on methane, a six pack and a bag of darito's would keep us wheeling for days.
