I need to make a port in my tranny case (read Aluminum)for a Vss sensor. What type of tap and where can I get one for a good price. The info I've found so far says I need a 11/16 inch drill and a 3/4 inch-16 tap.

    Thanks
    Mike

Mike, You have the drill size correct and the tap can be bought from DiEuginio Tool Center - 1120 S. Black Canyon Hwy. Phoenix Phone # 602-258-1351 and ask for a taper or plug style tap. It should be under $20.00

Thanks! I looked at Home Depot and they only went up to 5/8.

Grainger or McMaster-Carr, They probably will be fairly expensive though.

Ace Hardware has them for $10.00. I work there! If the store don't have it they can get it for you quickly. I have a right and left threaded one. /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif
