I was told today that the tailgate window motor was discontinued. I'm not sure who the manufacturer is. ACDelco? Autozone said that their vendor was out of stock so I'm thinking that even aftermarket vendors are discontinuing this motor too. NAPA told me that I would have to send it in and the vendor would fix it, but it would cost $95. Anybody know if LMC sells them. I can't find any of the catalogs that I've gotten in the mail and they don't have an online catalog as far as I know. The dealership that told me that it was discontinued said that it just happened in Dec. of last year so this is probably news to some of you guys, but then again I was wondering if it was maybe a lazy parts guy. So if anyone knows then let me know. I have an 89K5 by the way. Thanks

Mich, if all else fails and you can't find a new one, try searching the local junk yards.. Ther eis bound to be one there that you can take out of a wrecked blazer/jimmy. I do believe that LMC does still make them, I vaguely remember seeing them in the magazine. Good luck on your search... you may also try JC WHitney, never know what you can find in there.

I think thats bunk. GM (all auto makers actually) HAVE to provide factory parts for 10 years after the vehicle was made, since we are still in 2001, that SHOULD mean that they still have them. I actually have never seen that in print anywhere, but for insurance and such i believe the government stepped in. I would be curious to see if there are rebuild kits for them. The last one I got (used) I took apart, made sure it was good inside, then sealed it with silicone to try and prevent water/moisture/dirt from getting in it, since the one that failed seemed to be victim of those causes.
