I have a 76 K5 and a few years ago I went into a upholstery shop and had them "custom" make a top for me... It came out ot about $400.oo.. about as much as the ones that are after market....They good thing bout the 'custom' approach is I had it done to my specs......

I've seen some people use Scout ones that worked ok..... I hardly ever see Blazer/Jimmy bikini tops. Seem to be rare suckers. You could always have one made for you too like at boat shop or something.....

I have the hardtop off my 74 that I will sell you. Are you located in Michigan? I noticed it said Great Lakes in your profile.

My bad! I thought you wanted to make your 77 a full convertible. I live down in Ann Arbor.

A big block will fit just fine. My old truck used to have a big block in it and it shares the same dimensions as my Blazer.
I can't wait to get started!!

Well, you can't go wrong with a TH400. I just picked up a TH400 and NP205 from Donovan from this board. They can handle some major horse power. There is also custom built 700R4's and 4L80E's that can handle alot of power plus they have an overdrive. But, they aren't cheap!

There are so many aftermarket parts out there for the TH400 that it's the most practical tranny to use behind a big block.
