Where are you mounting your tach ? I have a 87 and don't want to mount it on the dash. Any suggestions?

I don't have one, but i think I have seen them mounted to the steering column, if you don't want it on your dash..

I have a auto so when you change gears the tach would move
or the key switch is in the way.

It's not a problem if you have a small tach. I have Tilt and a Auto and it's worked out fine. Only thing you can't see when in Drive is the gear indicator. I mounted mine foward so it's not on the collar that rotates with the shifter.

It's not my damn planet monkey boy!

MIne is also on the column. w/ auto. The only thing that is obsturcted is the p-brake light. It is mounted at 1 o'clock when it is in park, and about 2 o'clock when in drive. The tack is turned so when it is in Drive it reads normal, & when in park it is turned slightly to the left. Also it is 3" or 3.5" Sun tack. I like it.

I have mine mounted to the cab post (it's actually screwed into the trim) just about 1" off the dash. It doesn't impede my view either.

My 5" Monster Tach sits underneath the center of the dash on the floorboard right next to the transfer case shifter. I'm not one to look at the tach while I'm tearing up the dunes so it doesnt really matter. I just listen to the motor. Phil

Mines mounted on the column with a big hose clamp. I've got it leaning off to the left so I can still see all the guages and idiot lights. Mines a standard, so I don't have the shifter problem. Works great with no problems.

Why do people keep calling it a Bronco!!!!! [IMG]

Here's how mine is on the column. It blocks the gauges a little, but its not meant to speed either.

mine is mounted about half way up the window pillar. I like it better than on the column.

I've seen tachs screwed to the middle of the dashboard.. but it kinda gets in your way. I think that's where my tach is going when I put it in though. Even though I took the shifting capabilities out of my column.. I'd never see it anyplace below the dash. I never really look at my speedo anymore either. listening to the engine and shifting with my megashifter help me know what speed I'm at.
