I heard someone here mention an agency to report internet fraud. This has nothing to do with 4x4 ... actually a company I ordered a cat collar from!! /forums/images/icons/blush.gif
They took my card number and used it on Paypal. Paypal deals are final, Paypal will not refund money even in the case of fraud or theft (Pretty smart guys ... Paypal and the crooks!). I don't expect to get my money back nor do I care ($12), but I feel I need to report them as a means of helping any agency close them down.

Any ideas where to go /forums/images/icons/confused.gif

    Thanks,

    Eric M.

Eric, Go back to your "issuing credit card company" (IE: Capital One, Providian, etc.), and call their customer service. Tell them what happened, they will charge it back to the crooks at Paypal, and credit your account for the $12. I had it happen to me with some memory, I bought on the internet. I got my money back! Good luck!!

I'm sorry to hear about your misfortune, but you can post this in the non 4x4 and get plenty of views.

Unfortunatly, I had left some money in my Paypal account from a previous e-Bay sale (I try to wait until I have about $100 in there before paying the fee to have them cut me a check), so it was never charged to my credit card company. It all happened through Paypal.

    Thanks,

    Eric M.

I got scammed out of $600. I paid through paypal. They took it out of my bank account. Anyway, i filed a complaint with paypal, and they investigated it. After about three weeks, they reported back to me, and they acknowledged that i had been screwed, but they were only able to get $30.83 back. I guess they seize whatever is left in the account of the offending party. It was a far cry from the $600, but at least it was something. It might be worth it to file the complaint, if you haven't done so already. Also, you can file a complaint here:
