    Where\'s My Ruler?

Is the length of a th350 the same as a 4 speed manual? Also, will a 4 speed manual bolt up to a 203 transfer case using the adapter for the th350, or will I have to buy a new adapter?

Well, as long as you can come up with the 4speed length, this might help you, and others.

    ....................................case. overall. bellhousing to
    ....................................length length trans mount

    powerglide (short tail)......15 1/4. 24 1/4. 19 1/2

    powerglide (long tail).... ..15 1/4. 27 1/2 . 20 1/2

    thm200.........................27 5/8 . 27 5/8 . 20 1/8

    thm250.........................21 5/8 . 27 5/8 . 20 3/8

    thm350 (short tail)...........21 5/8 . 27 5/8 . 20 3/8

    thm350 (long tail).............21 5/8 . 30 5/8 . 20 3/8

    thm400 (short tail)...........24 3/8 . 28 1/4 . 26 3/4

    thm400 (long tail).............24 3/8.... 34..... .. 28

    200R4.............................27 3/4.. 27 3/4 . 26 7/8

    700R4......................... ...23 3/8 .. 30 3/4 . 22 3/8

The 700-R4 can be had with two different bellhousing to trans mount lengths, so be careful, that number listed above for it's bellhousing to mount length isn't the only one.

Why insist on counting when the ring gear has the tooth counts stamped in?

Those all look to be 2WD length's.

My SM 465 from the bellhousing to the rear of the case is 18.5" long...26" to the back of the T-case adaptor.

The SM 465 will not bolt up to that 203 either. You'd need an adaptor for that combo specifically and it was only made for one year (1974) Also the 203 you have now is 27 spline input, the SM 465 can be had in 10 spline (most common) or 32 spline (almost as common) Any which way you would go about swapping the 465 in you'd need new driveshafts.
