where's my water temp sending unit?

    where\'s my water temp sending unit?

    my water temp gauge is goin crazy cause it's broken, i bought a new gauge and i have to put a part in water to get a reading and i'm wondering where the stock unit is so i can just replace them? if it's that easy? i'm headed up to the mountians on friday and wanna watch my temp so i need it done soon.. also does anyone know where to get stock gauges for an 86 K5? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

    driver side cylinder head between the #2 and #4 exhaust ports. Or that is were i plumbed mine.

    Yup, two sensors, but one is for the gauge, the other is for the computer.
    For the gauge - sensor is in between the two front cylinders on the drivers side of the block.
    For the engine's computer - sensor is located on intake manifold next to thermostat.

    wrecking yard, or private citizen parting out an '81-87 truck.
