I just drove my blazer from Savannah GA to Fairbanks AK. What a trip. The scenery was awesome and my dogs loved the snow.

Yup, one can clean up off those DITY moves if one is smart. I treated myself to a night at the strip bar ( I mean I really treated myself that night) from the money I made off that move.

Beat my buddy by a few hundred miles. He has done Atlanta GA to AK a couple times now. Last trip was this summer with a 39ft 5th wheel Toy box behind his F250crew and get this...He got work to cover it. He did a job while he was there (installs high end X-Ray ger including the actuall machini I had my heart stints done on) so the Miles and 2weeks were paid. He just had to cover camping for 1.5 weeks.

Wow, that'd be over $600 worth of gas if my calculations are correct at my current MPG. Not to mention what my Swampers would look like at the end of that trip.

Yeah, if I only had a running 6.2 I could enjoy that mileage. Of course, buying one and rebuilding it is out of the question as the cost is insane.

Although I can't say that if I found a running parts truck, I wouldn't be tempted.

What fatboy said. Details are that you have to send them a weight slip showing the weight of your rig/trailer that you use when it was loaded and what it weighed emptied and based on the mileage of the move and the weight, that's what you got IIRC.
