i have an 86 k5 jimmy and when i was looking at the list of chilton manuals i found that there are two that my truck could fall into, the actual k5 manual only covers up to 82 so which one do ya'll use who have a rig over an 82?

I use the big Chilton's Manual and the smaller Haynes manual. The Chilton's is Chevy/GMC Full-Size Trucks 1988 through 1996. The Haynes is Chevrolet & GMC Pickups 1967-1987...Includes 1967-1991 Sub, Blazer & Jimmy. Both books have similar descriptions, but the Chilton's has a lot more pictures and exploded view drawings.

I prefer the Haynes manual over a chiltons. Seems to cover a little more. I've got both, but the chiltons looks brand new, while the haynes is so covered in oil and greese, I'm gonna have to get another one.

Oh yea, my haynes covers chevy trucks 67-87 for pickups, and blazers and subs till '91
