Which doubler 2\" up or not?

Which doubler would you order? The regular one or the 2" up rotation? What are the pros and cons of the 2?

    2" up, ground clearance.

Get the 2" up option /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

I got the 2" rotation and then raised my entire drivetrain 2.75" so that nothing hangs below my frame

So I guess there's no draw backs to getting the 2" up?

I think the 2" up is what ORD considers "Regular".....

The 2" rotation gets things as flat as possible underneath and is such a minor rotation, that it is unlikely to cause any other inteference or clearance problems. My doubler has the 2" rotation, and I think you'll find that probably 90% of the other doubler owners are set up the same way.... /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

The only draw back I can think of, is it raises the angle of the front drive shaft up a bit higher. Not too big of a deal, since you'll probably invest in some nice shafts anyhow.
BTW, mine is also 2" up...

Re: Which doubler 2\" up or not?

Mine is rotated to where the front output is level with the input.

I wouldn't recommend it (my extreme clocking) if you want to keep much of the body, but now that Im swapping in a cab I am glad I clocked mine the extra little bit. It would be killer if Watson had time to mock up a K5 with 1" body lift. He could clock up the case till it was just a few hairs from the body. He may have done this already. It just looks like the case sets so much lower in the pics on the main page. My old flat portion of the NP205 is sitting at a 35 degree angle now!

I did not require raising the engine to get a flat belly pan - nothing wrong with doing so. Frizzlefry has a good idea there, but how much did that raise the CG of your rig? Could you tell a difference?

If you want to see it, go to my Members Rides page here on ColoradoK5. These guys are prolly sick of seeing my junk. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

I'm not too worried about the body contact. I already have a 2" body lift.

All this info is exactly what I needed. Thanks /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Doesnt the 2" rotation also make it possible to run the front crossmember with no modifications assuming there isnt a lot of suspension lift on the truck?

Yes, you are correct, no mod necessary on the Xmember with 2" up.
