I am replacing my glow plugs (currently ac 11g I think) what are the best to put back in. I have an 82 6.2.

Manual or automatic glow plug control. If manual AC 60G. If automatic stick with the AC 11G.

    IT IS AUTOMATIC.
IS IT POSSIBLE TO PUT A MANUAL SWITCH IN PLACE OF/ OR IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE AUTO CONTROLER?

Yes it is. Find your glow plug relay thats on the drivers side under the hood. Find the blue wire. Leave it hooked up. Take a jumper and place it in the blue wire terminal. Now turn the key on..don't start it...and ground that wire. You should hear the glow plugs cycle. Now go to Wal Mart or your parts store and get a simple momentary switch (horn button works good). Hook it up. You have a manual switch.

Depends on your rig. I started at 20 sec in winter and got it down to about 10. Summer is no problem...about 7 seconds. You just have to play with it and find your sweet spot. If you go manual go with the 60s.
