I am looking to get a GPS unit. It comes in very handy when out exploring new areas.

All I want out of it is obviously tracking of where I have been and where I am, and be able to place way points when I find somewhere of interest. Also, I want to be able to download my adventure to my computer along with the way points. Then be able to upload the trail and waypoints back to the GPS the next time I go to that area.

Oh, and 12v cigarette lighter capabilities.

    Any one have any suggestiongs?

    Ken H.

Garmin eTrex Vista. Has my vote for the best GPS on the market.

Do a quick search on GPS over in the Communications forum. There was a discussion on this a while back.

Forget all the other suggestions, The Garmin GPS V is the S#!T!!!! I got mine about 2 weeks before the release date (what is it with me being the first with cool toys???) I got mine from http://www.onlinemarine.com It cost me $414.xx and it comes with the vehicle mount, and car charger, as well as a SWEET basemap & a downloadable (one area free) street level section. I also opted for the remote auto antenna. I strongly suggest http://www.geocaching.com for cool information, I got a sweet downloading program for waypoints from them.

    Later,

    Corey
