You might want to give Billet Superstores a ring. I'm not sure of there website, but I do know he has one. His name is Colby. He's a real cool guy and only like 21 or 22 I think. He is here in California. From what my cousin says he can get just about anything. Tell him that you heard about him from Steve with the blue '99 Tahoe. Steve is my cousin. He bought ALOT of stuff from him. He'll know who your talking about. Let me know what you find out.

I did a conversion to VDO gauges (do a search for VDO), and I did black faced gauges. They do have white faced gauges you could do instead.

I am going with autometer phantom series gauges. they are pretty nice looking and can really light your dash up. VDO sells a white face series that really didnt impress me much.

ah yea maybe you weren't impressed, but the VDO's are a lot cheaper, AND I gotta programable speedometer! [IMG] I can recalibrate that thing in 2 minutes by simply finding a mile marker and pushing a button on the FRONT of the gauge. I'd also wager you that the auto meter gauges won't light up your dash ANY more then the VDO vision series like I'm running, and the'd be doing real well to light up as good. You can keep you autometers I got NO complaints w/ my VDO's.

How did you mount the gauges in your dash? In place of the original? Do you have any pictures to post?

My oil presure and water temp are shot and I want to replace mine. I have been wondering if you can replace the stock guages with after market.

    Thanks

White gage faces.....Uhh Riz your worry me here. Uhh a K5 aint no Honder civic. [IMG]. The VDO gages look killer and they do have some light colored faces available. I can vouch for VDO quality. I have run them in a couple cars I have owned. Thats the manufacture that makes the gages for Porsche, BMW, and Mercedes. Top quality stuff. You can get colored lights for them so you gan have green or red dash lights instead of the white if you want.
If you really want to get the overlay white face you might want to pick up a copy of Truckin or sport compact car. They have lots of adds for stuff like that. The few I have seen installed are usualy shotty quality and you get hot spots where the bulbs are at night if there are the back light style that you pull the black peice out. If it just lays over the black peice and uses the factory style dirrect light like our trucks are already they look ok but most don't lay flat at the edges because the black peice is stamped and in areas they have a lip. Some of those also get a wave in them and after a while don't lay as flat as they need to and start interfering with the needles.

Well I am thinking they do maybe its just me[IMG]!!!! Now I am going to get up and do a twirlly dance because I know you now have a calibrateable speedo. To me the gauges looked better in the dash and lit it up perfectly so my whole cab looks good. Especially since I have a Blaupunkt Casablanca radio. VDO guages look just as good as Autometers. The price for me was $65 less than VDO for a 5 guage kit so what was I to do? Grim is right you can change to any color bulb you want to after you get them in. Me I went to blue.
