    who has/has heard one 10\" sub in a K5??

welp, im past my rap stage and dont need/want the 2 12's in the bandpass anymore cuz i can barely listen to country music and its gigantic, so i was wanting an accurate, powerful 10". whats the best you guys have heard? i was considering a 12, but i want the accuracy from a 10 since korn/disturbed type music is pretty fast and i like the power in there too. anyone heard a 10" that soundz good, not ear-blowing good, but i want to distinctly hear it. i was thinkin like solo-baric or something? thanks guys...

im running 1 10" audiobahn ported subwoofer, and a 1000 watt audiobahn amp, and it hits harder than most setups i have seen.

i love it, and the whole setup was under 400 bucks!

hey wraenking, what are the specs to your sub/amp, i was lookin into the aw1206T sub, but then thought about a 10" instead, do they come in 10"?? and when you say it hits harded than most systems, what kinda systems are you listening to, i know few single 10" subs in a large vehicle in a ported box, hitting harder than a couple 12's in a car. kinda sounds like im being a smartass, but im just tryin to get the biggest thump for my buck and compare all the info. and i believe 2 10's with 300 watts each would hit harder than one 10 with 600 watts, as long as you're feeding the subs around their rms, its pretty much just surface area from there. thanks guys, any more opinions??

Kicker L7 would be my recomendation. I run a 12" L7 in my daily driver and it pounds hard. I'd go for a 12 though. /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

    i have the abass 10

i cant find a pic of my amp, but what i did was go the the local stereo guy, and listened to everything that would fit in the back of the blazer. we might have different tastes, so what i think is hitting hard, you might not, but i can tell you, go find that ported audibahn somewhere and check it out, you wont be dissapointed

It's basically a question of air displacement (as mentioned) so two 10's have more surface area than a single 12" or single 10" so they have the potential to displace more air.

Also, the amount of available cone movement needs to be factored in...it's a spec usually referred to as XMAX which is the amount of excursion that the cone can travel. The crazy subs like the JL W7 series have an ungodly amount of travel, so they can displace a LOT more air than a conventional speaker of the same diameter.

also a single 10" square Kicker solobaric has more surface than a single 10" round speaker. I have heard these square Kickers, they are awsome.

JL audio 10W3V2 or 10W6V2. I have 3 10W3V2's in a custom box and love their punchy hits for hardrock and metal. I know audiobahn makes some crazy stuff too...

i would have to say either a RE XXX 10in or dd 9510" OR how about orion H2 10in either subs ran ported tuned low with an orion 2500d or something that puts out 2500w at 1ohm would sound awesome and retain awesome sound quality. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

This is the trunk of my daily driver (98 Dodge Stratus) [IMG] [IMG] it's a 12, but it doesn't take up much room, and hits pretty hard for only one sub.
