I am thinking about putting a set of ORD coustom rear springs on my truck. I was wondering what you guys thought of them and how they work offroad?
    Thanks

Down at BB02 I saw money pit get pretty flexed up coming out of Hell's Revenge. It was pretty insane I took some pics for him, he prolly has em. I think he is running 9012's in the rear and Bilstein Remote Res or Fox Remote Res up front and it seems to use all the travel in those.

Yeah, the thing I noticed about Toby's truck is that when Harley and I were folowing him up Spring Creek the other night, his body hardly moved at all and the axle was doing all the moving, just like it should...It really altered my idea of was and awesome suspension is...in a word, it is balanced...

I have a full set on mine.

I have mixed feelings about them. In Moab, I couldn't make it up several obstacles because they are too soft. It seems that Alcan builds everything softer than you tell them. I would be happier with mine if they were about 50 lbs. heavier. I have enjoyed the flex they provide a few select times. Personally, I will never own another set. They have been the biggest pain in my ass ever. I have had to redesign everything on my truck. The springs were so soft that I busted a 14 bolt yoke the first time I drove the truck due to massive axle wrap. You will need to bump stop and limit strap your truck after putting a set of theses soft ass springs on. On the street they are a nightmare. I had a friend drive my truck the other night, and he about messed his pants. I would not suggest putting these springs on a DD.

From what Tony (monetpit) was saying, his FIRST set of springs were like that...They had a spring rate of like 150# and they were just too damn soft...he had axle wrap so bad that he ended up twisting the main leaves in the pack...I guess he and Watson go together and his current set has a rate of like 225 or 250# and all is well...

I had one of the first sets out. The fronts were awesome. The rears came in softer due to Alcan. I bent the top 2 leaves in each pack due to axle wrap. ORD replaced them with a stiffer set instead of fixing the bent ones. (my decision)ORD also added track bars to control wrap. Now all is good. The ride and flex is great. Now that it is dialed in it wheels like a madman! You need to be able to control your truck. Too much flex will control you. Bumpstops are your friend! /forums/images/graemlins/usaflag.gif

So what rates are your springs now? I am in the process of getting an order together with Alcan.
