who knows about old york A/C industrial compressors?

    yesterday i found a old york industrial a/c compressor or charger? it is about the size of a shop compressor and has high side low side guages on it. and a 3 phase elec.. motor, im wondering if this will make a good shop compressor? it is friggin big.and had 2 tanks.i think it was for airplanes.

    I saw a VW engine converted to a compressor so anything can be done
    ever since I have wanted to do it, figure have 2 VW engines one gas powered driving the compressor

    you have 3 phase at home?

    I had a tire truck come fix a flat on the road about 10 years ago. The compressor on that truck was a small block ford with a special head on one side that turned it into a four cylinder compressor.

    Not only have I also seen that set-up but I have rebuilt many of them for Purdue Tire before they went out of business.

    Scott, what was the benifit of that setup over the common setup? Was that for the "big" loader tires ot what? /forums/images/icons/confused.gif
