Screw mud and crawling is for wussies who are afraid of shoving the go fast pedal through the floorboard. /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

    Re: who mud\'s or crawl\'s?

I like to crawl slowly though mud.... or crawl so slow it looks like mud...

Out here in the east coast, its never just one thing. I used to think it was just some weird east coast phenomenon when I used to mountain bike. You'd have miles of nuttin but stinkin rocks. And then of course, you always run into a muddy wet section, only to head right back into the rocks again.

I love mud. No surface except maybe snow is more unpredictable.

Yeah, Canadian mud is the best! Although Id sure like to try some of that Hollister sticky stuff! You just dont know mud till you sink to the frame in some muskeg. I have been in the mud for ten years, now I am getting into the rocks more and more. They are hard to find tho... gotta make the trips into the local gravel pit to get some rock action.

    Where in Sask are ya?

    Re: who mud\'s or crawl\'s?

I have had a fascination with moderately deep water lately for some reason. I don't know why. I used to avoid it if it was deep enough to cover my hubs. Maybe it's because I can go play in the mud and then drive through a few feet of water and then only have to clean the engine when I get home and hose out the cab.

I've also started playing with rocks and stuff but the much higher possibility of monkeyed up sheetmetal scares me. The more technical the trail, the more slippery the rocks and logs, and the better chance to flop a Heep the more I like it. If its got water and a Jeep might float away it's a bonus. /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

Right now I'm just trying to keep the damn thing together until I get home tomorrow nite /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I'm a desert dawg, into off road racing and that's where my build-up direction is. But instead of going to high dollar route, I'm going the lowest $$$$$ feasible to build-up /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

In the back, I have front and rear axles and front springs that I only paid $175 for. At home I have a custom 208 TC with fixed yoke that I paid only $75 for, got the rear shaft for free /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif.

I love taking my rig and testing it and myself. Pushing it to the edge. The calibure of rocks we are into now is mystifying. I love the rocks. [IMG]
I love a trail that most people would never even consider walking, and the we crawl it. I love a trail that is 300 yards longa nd takes all day to survive!!![IMG]but that's just how I am!!

MUD and the trails leading to it /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif I do have a rock driveway however, and I crawl all over it when I'm working under my rig... is that considered rock-crawling? /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif /forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif
