A woman was out Christmas shopping with her two children. After many hours of looking at row after row of toys and everything else imaginable; and after hours of hearing both her children asking for everything they saw on those many shelves, she finally made it to the elevator with her two kids.

She was feeling what so many of us feel during the holiday season time of the year. Overwhelming pressure to go to every party, every housewarming, taste all the holiday food and treats, getting that perfect gift for every single person on our shopping list, making sure we don't forget anyone on our card list, and the pressure of making sure we respond to everyone who sent us a card.

Finally the elevator doors opened and there was already a crowd in the car. She pushed her way into the car and dragged her two kids in with her and all the bags of stuff. When the doors closed she couldn't take it anymore and stated, "Whoever started this whole Christmas thing should be found, strung up and shot."

From the back of the car, everyone heard a quiet calm voice respond, "Don't worry, we already crucified Him."

For the rest of the trip down the elevator it was so quiet you could have heard a pin drop.

Don't forget this year to keep the One who started this whole Christmas thing, in your every thought, deed, purchase, and word. If we all did it, just think of how much better this whole world would be.

Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy Holiday Season

Please tell me I'm not the only one who found this really humorous, even in light of the message?

Jesus is your reason for the season.

Couldn't help but say it :)

I must agree though, PC is a lot of BS. I'd rather hear Merry Christmas and tell people to have a great Yule than to just simply say 'Happy Holidays.'

And in light of that, have a great Yule ;)

Winter Solstice, sometimes celebrated as the Solstice, and sometimes as Yule (they're both the same thing). It's the shortest day of the year, symbolizes rebirth, renewal, a new beginning, etc. It's the beginning of the Wheel of the Year.

Much of the colors and decorations commonly associated with Christmas were used prior to the development of Christianity as symbols representing the Solstice.

Thank you, I remember that now... :doah:
    Happy Yule to you!

    Merry Christmas to all!

Actually Happy Holidays for all those involved in what ever your holiday is!
I don't wish to leave anyone out, I'm just a little touchy on all the attempts to remove Chrismas lately.

To be honest with you I think people have just plain lost it. I heard a bit on the news about people complaining about "Xmas" being offensive or whatnot. Those idiots just need to do some research.

XR, the Greek letters Chi-Ro were used to abbreviate Christ's name for a long time. And naturally, Xmas came around instead of Christmas as a respectful, yet short version. Anyone who thinks that X is an English "Ex" instead of X, the Greek "Chi" can get a nice little slap on the wrist.

Still really bothers me, people jumping to conclusions, judging things, and crying "Wolf!" without even bothering to look at the history of what they're complaining about.

    Ummm...dude, the X isn't just a simple abbreviation, it's actually a symbol. The X isn't just a coincidence.
