    Who\'s done the Dusy/Ershim Trail?

This is the trail in the Shaver Lake area. I'd like to find out if it's doable in our K5's without MAJOR body damage. I was told it is tight, but the pictures i've seen of the area are so spectacular that i've got to go. Any info would be great. Thanks

I have a trail rating on my site for that one. I personally haven't run the trail but would like to.

Iv heard there are alot of tight and off camber spots and that a full size can only go so far before having to turn back, witch is exactly why Im gonna try it out first thing this spring. To do the trail beginning to end takes a few days. The same people say full sizes cant do swamp lake, coyote lake ,and many others in the area. Its hard to get straight scoops on the trails from the jeep and toy guys here. And major body dammage is a relative term.I rubbed a few trees my last couple trips .Trees make dents but dont take of paint in most cases and the bark skid marks come off with rubbing compound. All the trails here are closed for the winter now.Let me know when yall want to come up and I will figure some cool places for us to go.

I a couple of my friends in fresno say that they have done it with their fullsize PUs with out a problem and no denting or paint scrapping, but to be honest I don't know if I believe them or not.
That is definetly a trail I plan on hitting next spring/summer.

I've been told by someone that he took his K5 through it one time. I've seen pics on the 'net, but never been up there. Of course, I'm running a stocker so I'm not too willing to hit anything hardcore. But if someone on here says I can do it, wouldn't mine doing a run up there next summer if I can fit it into my schedule.

From what I've heard, you definitely wouldn't want to take a stocker up there! And you guys with carburetors are gonna be hating life, since most of the trail is at the 10,000 foot level!! Hopefully we can find some more info about this place and if we can fit in, I'd spend a week up there camping, flyfishing and 4x4ing!!

:::Note, posting under Liftedass' name but this is not him:::: My dad has driven Dusy a couple times a year for the past 35 years, i've been doing it since i was born (20 years). It can be done in the older body style blazers ('72 and older) and it can be done with newer style, but be prepared for your doors to dent in between some trees, but it can be done.
