Have you had any tranny problems? Do you run a cooler? I'm just curious, just thinking about it now since the tires are only less than 10 bucks higher than 33".

I've been running 33" for the last 5 years, not one tranny problem. For the first couple of years, it was 3.4something gears and now it's 3.73.

35" is not 33". Thank you. /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif That's what I'm running now, I'm just doing some research for a possible future purchase.

I had 35, 3.73's and a 700r4 for a while...Until I managed to SMOKE the heck outa outa the 700...That is why I swapped to a manual...I love the setup sooo much more...I will probably love it more when I get the 454 in there....

its really not that bad of a swap...it took me a good solid 3 days to do the swap...the pedals and hydro linkage took me a day.. and another day to pull the slush box out and get the hole cut in the floor for the shifter...and another day to install the tranny itself and get everything hooked up...but my truck still sat for aother month waiting for axles and for freekin stockton wheel to get my damn beadlocks done...what ever you do...dont buy beadlocks from them!! /forums/images/graemlins/angryfire.gif

    Re: Who\'s got 35\" tires, 700R4 and 3.73 setups?

I ran 33's, 700r4, & 3.42's for two years with no problems. Most of my driving was highway & it ran great. I would not recommend much offroad or towing with this, however. I've since upgraded to 36's, same tranny (awaiting install of TH400), and 4.11's. This works fine as well, and has been offroad tested & used for towing in the mountains. I just need to get a bigger allowance from my wife to get my 396 rebuilt that's in my garage for a bit "more power"!!!!!

I'm running 35's, 700, and 3.42's (was 4.56 but destroyed my pinion gear, so this is temp. until I get the 14b in). It's too low a gear for highway. Slows down on small hills. 3.73 would probably do you good. My truck came stock with a towing package, so it already had a cooler. This tranny has been in the truck 3 years and haven't had a problem yet.

Just food for thought....the 35's that you are thinking of running - you might want to actually measure them. I've measured some 35's at like 33.25

I'm running 36" TSL Radials with a 700R4 and 3.73's. I also have the biggest stacked plate style cooler Hayden makes. Seems to run out just fine and has plenty of go from a stop.

I've got a 350/700R4/3.73 gears. I just went to 35" Mud Kings last night (34" om the truck, I just measured).
I thought it was gonna suck gearing-wise but so far I'm pretty surprised! It drives fine!
I'm not drag racing it or anything... and I sure can't tell you about longevity so far... but seat of the pants? It feels fine!

I ran 33's with 3.07's/700r4 for almost 3 years. I also don't run a cooler (not for long though) never had any problems. When I put my 4" BDS lift on I am planning to run 35's with 3.73's. Well see what happens. /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

i have 35" tires, 700R4 and 3.73, and have had the truck since april and no tranny problems... the t-case leaked and i took it to aamco and they said the tranny was bad, but it's not bad... so it works fine, and i have a tranny cooler, but it's not installed yet.
