Seem to remember somebody here being into appliance repair ... friend has a drier which needs some love. I'm told no heat... I figger it can't be too hard to fix if I can fix my trucks, but I wanted to poll an expert and see if it's worthwhile.

No heat usually = Heaters , or thermal fuse/thermostat

Sometimes it can be as simple as the lint buildup cycles it off fast due to overheating .

Or , sometimes the circuit breaker on the home pops one leg , the motor will run with just 110 v .

Like my PM , let me know what kind .

An exact model is best . Although not all model variations I'll have a book for :D

Is it a gas or electric? If electric could be bad heating element.

Man I am gald I just saw this thread. My In-Laws drier just died....No Heat, so they went out and bought a new set while I was at work....Washer and drier.

Here is the best part. I get to fix the drier and sell them.

I figure it is either lint or a sensing thermistor somewhere in the circut.

Pauly, I will PM you for details later this week. And If you sell repair parts you can count on my business.

Hope so. I just looked and it is a Performa, By Maytag.
However I do not see a model number / Serial # tag anywhere.
Would it be behind the rear panel, like inside of it?

Maytag performa is Maytag by name only , Norge style Admiral on the inside .

Model number could be behind the console .

The lid comes up , and the heater , thermostat , and thermal fuse are in the upper left rear corner in a small box . Check each for continuity .

Thermistor = 0.6 Ohms, Or thermal protection thing.
    Heater coils = 11.6 Ohms

    Where is the T-Stat?

Found it. It is the thing below where the heater coil wires are.

It looks like a thermal fuze, Not unlike the thing mounted right above the coils.

    WHat is the diff?

Same area big ones the thermostat , small ones the fuse .

There could be another , but it would be by the blower wheel , on that housing , or the air ducts .
