The more I learn...the more I know I don't know...hence...ther reason to learn more. Let me get to the point. I've got a 1990 SLE Jimmy (- the hood ornament). I notice that many have hood ornaments but many do not. Can anyone explain this? And also...while I'm at it. With or without...what is your preference?

It's the trim package. My 79 has it but it was a upper model. I think they did completly away with it 89-91. Tell you truth I Don't care for it a whole lot but I don't even notice it.

I have one on my 1990, but a buddy of mine that also has a 1990 identical to mine(same package and everything) does not have one. Not sure why it is there? I would prefer not to have one. Just my opinion.

I'm thinking of putting a hood ornament on mine of a chainsaw blade and chain poking through the front of the hood. I'd look all Jackylish then!!

I bought one a put it on my 87 Sierra Classic Jimmy. Don't know why it wasn't on there to begin with. Maybe the replacement hood from previous owner.

Contrary to Ben above, my '87 Sierra Classic jimmy has a hood ornament. I prefer one because it's just one more indication that it's a classic since almost nothing new comes with a true hood ornament. Just my $.02

It's also like that with those little emblems around the lock cylinders on the doors. I've seen K5's that have 'em and some that don't. I dont have a hood ornament or the little lock emblem thingys on my 84 Silverado with every other option under the sun.....

My '80 has a Mack bulldog for a hood ornament. Think its stock?

My 90 doesn't have them, but has every other option, I think. I like them without, it looks cleaner.

Does anyone know why GM had them on some...but not all? I've got an SLE which is like the silverado. Some have them...some don't. Anyone know? A prize for anyone who does know.

I have no idea why some do and some don't. I'd rather my '86 didn't but instead of trying to fill the hole, I put my old Caddy ornament on the old battle wagon.
    Anything to be different!

My '90 had a hood ornament, but I removed it to prevent theft. Big problem where I'm from. It's not so bad that they have to steal 'em, it's that they usually muck up the hood in the process. I guess I'd rather just not have one.

How do the horns come together? Tie some rope around it on the left side then the right.... leave a gap where the crease goes in the middle... it should balance it out and you can attach them... I saw some horns in Reno and wanted them until my friend teased me I'd look like Boss Hawg so much I decided to not go that route.....

I have an 86 Blazer Silverado with a hood ornament... but it's sort of hidden from the front with my bug guard.... I don't like it or dislike it... it's just there and I never even really look at it....

Dawson, are you talking about a little bull ornament or a real pair of bull's horns?
