I am going with 38s and wonder what width to go with. Its an all around burb. I tow with it every weekend at least 100 miles round trip( mostly the boat 3000 lbs with trailer), and drive 40 miles round trip to work and back. I was thinking either 12.5 or 14.5". Any help is apriciated.

If you aren't worried about rotating your tires, I'd go as wide as you can in the back, and narrow tires in the front. You'll have the best of both worlds then. I love my narrows in the front sure is easier to steer.

my daily driven suburban is nice with my 12.5s even though they're TSLs.

    Go radial... Michelin military's

Either the 325/85R16 XML or the 11.00R16 XL. Both are in the 38-39" range - the XML is the wider of the two - 13" or so.

MJ on this board has the XL's - PM him for some first-hand info.

I like the idea of the michelins. I also like a 38.5x14.5 TSL/SX. I had some 38.5x11 Boggers....they were great until you had something to sink into. I like wide.
