Whats with fake widescreen movies? Snatch and Spaceballs. I watched them both and both had scenes where you could tell something was missing off the sides. Isn't their some standard wide screen is suppossed to be set to?

That's one of the reasons I bought a wide screen TV.

costco has a 65" toshiba for $1699. Damn near everyone could fit that on their credit card. ;)

anyway, there are several standards... but some DVDs aren't framed correctly... a widescreen TV won't help in that case, the information is literally not on the disc because some bozo who did the job at the studio crapped the bed. This tends to happen with older and/or not so big flicks.
