will 35x12.50 fit under a 86 shortbed with 4\" lift

I have heard that 35x12.5 will fit under a 86 chevy with just an 4" lift. I dont need major flex but i dont want the tires to hit everytime that the truck does flex. I'm willing to do minor fender trimming. Tell me what you guys think. I'm wanting to stay away from a 6" lift because of all the extra money in putting new driveshaft.

They will fit as long as the tires are mounted on 8" wide rims.

I ran 4" lift and 35's on 8" wide rims and never had any rubbing at all.

I have "HEARD" they rub pretty bad with 10 or 12 wides when you go wheelen but not to bad on the street. Personally I would go 6in for 35's but then agin you said you dont mind triming

I have an 86 K10 shortbed, and I ran 35's with a 4" Rough country lift and it didnt rub. At that time i never did anything but mud. If youre willing to trim youll be fine.

    I'm running a 4' rough country with 35x12.50 on 15x10s.
Without the swaybar I had to trim the rear of the front fenders slightly. If I could figure out how the post a pic into a post, I could show you.

My wheeling buddy has an 86 shortbed w/ a 4" Rancho lift and 35's. He only hits the rear of the front fender once in a while as others have said. He wishes he had a 6" lift though. Which is why I am doing a 6" lift on my 74 Blazer and will probably go with 35's as well.

i am looking to do the same to my 86 blazer next week. i am going with 4" tuff country setup on the frount. and a shackle flip from echobit on the rear (so i can always go to a 6" if needed without alot of problems.) i have read every post i can find and they say 35's will be no prob. never saw that i needed to change the driveshaft thought for the 6" lift. just the usual with brake lines and stearing arms. mabye a plate to beef up the steering houseing. thats my $.02 /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif
