I just did a search on the 4500 and didnt see this, so I'll post the question. Will the 4500 bolt into where a 465 was? Do you have to change out the bellhousings? Anything else to change out? Thanks guys.

I am pretty certain that the input shaft is the same so you can keep your clutch...But I am pretty sure the bellhousing bolt pattern is different...depending on what t-case you are running, you may need a custom tailhousing from www.advanceadapters.com What t-cases did the GM 4500 come mounted to from the factory? Were they the 241HD's? I can't remember...I would probably require some work to get the 4500 to work with a 205 t-case....

I think the NV4500 is a little longer than the 435 and the trans bellhousing pattern is different. There are 2 patterns used on the Chevy, I don't know the year splits.

GM put 241HD's and a Borg Warner Transfer case behind the NV4500.

The round pattern 205 with the 32 spline input shaft can be adapted to the NV4500 with a little grinding on the tail housing to clear the shift rail on the 205. Advance Adapters has a pretty good listing of the NV4500 to 205 conversion on thier website.

<font color=blue>Theres a factory Dodge housing adapter that will allow you to bolt a 205 to a NV4500 so you dont need an expensive adapter from Advance Adapters. They have a great book on how to swap in a 4500 without using they're stuff. It has a ton of info
