I have 3.73 gears and was looking for a cheaper way to improve acceleration than regearing. I know it would look wierd with a 6" lift but I plan on bringing it down to a 2" or 4" lift before I would need new tires again. My drive home goes up about 3000' in elevation in about 30 miles and it eats the gas.

Not really. Go to www.ring-pinion.com and check out the gear calculator.

I tried the same thing for towing. I have 3.42s in my Burb and had 35s, went down to 33s, didnt feel a difference, and actually lost gas milage, so I went back to 35s. I only tow my boat with it now so I dont need different gears. I like being able to tow 80 mph in drive /forums/images/icons/smile.gif
