Finally my winch project is done. Well all except the D-Rings. My ultra extreme duty winch mount is made of 1/4" and 3/8" plate steel. The frame will brake off before this thing breaks!! The winch is a Ramsey RE 8000 and is wired with 4 GA wire from my aux. deep cycle battery. It's complete with a kill switch in the front of the mounting plate. I have 100' of 3/8" fibercore rope with a hook and clip swedged onto the end of the cable. The cable is CHP approved for use on tow trucks. The fibercore cable is supposed to reduce backlash if the cable breaks. This thing is AWESOME !!!

I will be ordering my D-Rings next week. They are rated at 15,000 LBS. each.

Since I work for an auto shop / tow company we have access to lots of heavy duty stuff. I'm getting them from one of the catalogs we order from.

Hmm, D-rings? I can get a BUNCH of those free from work. Just like the one mounted on my front bumper...We've got bins full of them. Anyone need a few? They are the weld on variety though.......Not bolts.
