is it possible to take a 2000 lb winch and put a bigger cable on it to make it like a 5000 lb or more?

its possible to change out the cable but its not goin to make any differance on what the winch will pull ...what really matters is how powerful the motor on the winch is.

    And the gearing too.

In fact, the thicker cable will effectively raise the gear ratio, making the winch pull less strong.

You gotta pay to play! [IMG]
