it should be enough. blazers weigh more than your truck, or what will be left of it they way you drive it. seems you're gonna really look to get into trouble this time.

If you do mud, 9000 may be on the lower limits of what I would get. Mud and big tires create a big suction, that requires a big winch.

My HS9500i never gave me any troubles. Pulls me out with no probs so far. My rig is pretty darn heavy too. I bought mine new for $740 to my door. That was a while back though, I don't think that deal exist anymore ;(

If the 15,000 came with normal cable, instead of that monster stuff. Or at least was more than 95 feet.

I have seen too many 12,000lbs brought to a halt to get anythign smaller for the size of my truck and the type of wheeling I do. DEEP mud.

    Since you replied to me...

If you have larger tires and do a lot of mud... a 9000 wont fill the need. We have stalled many a 12,000 when up to the top of the wheel wells in deep goo. There is a LOT of suction created there. And sometimes it takes more than one 12,000 to get out. But, if you dont do mud like this, then you might be alright.

I have the HS9500I on my Blazer and it is great. it is so much faster than other winches you have to pace yourself or you will over run your partners winch. I as doing a double pull winching of a truck off a cliff (photos on my site in the SOLV IT area) and he had a Xd9000I. once I hooked up with out a snatch block and he was running one I had so much more power and line speed that I had to constantly stop to wait for him to catch up. We were winching an abandoned truck that was thrown over a cliff at TSF. To get to the truck we had to repel down the face. This winch is so fast that when they pulled the canopy up they flipped it over and rode it up like a sled it pulled so fast. I am throughly happy with my winch and really recommend it.
