For my last winch question, I was wondering if winches(warn) will still work if they are submerged under water. Like not raining on it, but actually under water in a water crossing or water hole. Like wouldn't the electrical get wet and kill the batterie or something. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gifThanks

i would consult with the winch manufacturer to know for sure.. but if you PLAN on having a submarine for a truck, then a hydraulic winch may be your best bet..

noo, not a submarine, my truck isn't very tall right now, and I need a winch so I wont get stuck, but its melting season and theres lots of water. I'll e-mail them maybe to find out... unless someone else has any info?

Mines worked under water several times. I just clean it out when I'm done.

You can run a blower motor under water. One of my teachers made a trolling motor for his fishing boat by attaching a prop to the blower motor and ran it off a 12 volt car battery. Winches have 12v motors /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

If I ever get a winch it'll be the Warn Thermo 9500i, seems to be a nice winch
