just so i will sleep better tonight...
    drivers power window switch
drivers side worked ...pass side did not
operating from pass side switch the window did work...

i assumed i had a switch problem... on driver's side
i performed a teardown of the drivers door...
and while greasing the window track
the wire harness in which window switch plugs into
sustained dammage ... i.e. exposed wires...
so iam off to the "boneyard" @ 1st light ...

    "MY QUESTION IS THIS" ....
Can I use any old CHevy/ GM switch and harness plug ????
Just bring the old one with me right?

Not sure of vintage, but to make the reinstall clean, find another truck that was PW, and unplug it from inside the cab, if you were unaware the wiring harness for them was seperable. Most GM cars/trucks of the same vintage will be the same setup, PERHAPS with different length wires. G-bodies (Cutlass, monte, Regal) come to mind as having the same wiring setup
