    Like the genius I am, I took all my program CD's out of the original package and put them in a zippered case. My hard drive crashed and I'm in the middle of installing windows again and can't find my damn registration key

    HELP!

    your kinda screwed. if you are using windows XP pro. you need the code for that CD or not everything will load. i had the same problem. And used another code. Did not work. Had to call Windows Support. :eek1:

    Well, I found one that works. Hopefuuly I can find my original one later if this one gives me any problems

    If you can still boot the old drive, even barely, there's a script you can run against your that windoze installation to find out what the key is. You can then run the same thing on your new installation and even change the key.

    Also, in the last few years, manufacturers have been putting the key on a sticker somewhere on the machine itself. If it's a laptop, flip it over and look, if it's a desktop, look on the back, top, or side of the chassis.

    you should be able to call micrsoft and they should give you a replacement
