    holy wind batman!

I think the strongest wind I have ever felt in my hometown of Vancouver, WA has been about 25-30 mph... and even that was rare. Today a nasty rain/wind storm came down on us... it still ain't over. They are saying it might gust as high as 60 mph. A tree brand about 10" thick snapped off a big tree outside my house like a twig. doh! Sheetmetal skirt around my manufactured home is getting ripped off slowly but surely also. Man, this sucks!!!

That samke storm is just arriving here now...pretty frisky out there right now, but at least we still have power.

Weather service is saying gusts to 80 mph before it starts to calm down.

    That was fun

We lost power at the shop twice, pretty much was in the dark from 5 to 9 PM.
Transformers were popping all over the place.
We watched a few planes taking off from PDX and thought they were gonna end up in our laps.
We watched one go sideways for a bit, I bet there were some unhappy campers in that rig. LOL

Your windy storm is gonna turn into a nasty blizzard when it hits us later on this afternoon -- I've heard rumours of a foot of snow today :D

I'm in Keizer (OR) didn't loss power at all, just did the normal Thursday night thing, work out and then sit on my butt at home. At the gym all the employees where hopeing for a power outage so they could shut down and go home, but didn't happen. In Keizer we are real close to a substation and everything in my neighborhood is underground so we have lost power 3 times in the last 6 years (transformers). The office did loose power in downtown Salem, just got in and all the clocks were wrong and I could not login from home last night to check e-mails at work.

Here in West Dakota - er I mean Eastern Montana they're calling for 60mph gusts. Not surprising around here though

damage report: metal skirting thingy on the bottom of the house is ripped off one one side + a small section on another side. One piece of sheetmetal "siding" is still hanging, but all ****ed up. One of our decks had its roof (corrugated plastic crap) torn to schiesse... and there are 3-tab shingle pieces all over the yard. We also have one big ass tree branch that got snapped off and thrown into our yard. It didn't just break and fall down... it was thrown by the wind about 30' from the tree. Good thing I wasn't in the yard when that happened. ouch! That tree branch wounded our dog run fence but thankfully missed the truggy/garage.

My dad is comin' over tomorow to help chop up that branch and clean things up a bit. I'll probably fix the skirting myself also... (landlord gives me $$$$ off rent for work)... but she's gonna have to take care of the roof. :)

We only had 40 mph gusts here today but we had a couple of hours where we were at a constant 35 mph wind. Thats at my house though (my neighbor has a weather station)

I had a garage climb a tree last night and power was on and off all night... back on by the time I got up for work though. Biggest problem was trees shut down the backroad route I normally take to drop my girlfriend off at work so we had to back track... then the lights were out on the highway and traffic was backed up 10 miles to the light. Top it off with a major freeway bridge closed for rush hour so my commute after dropping her off was nasty enough I turned around after an hour of going nowhere...

I got the garage down this afternoon with only minor damage. Small tear in the roof that I can patch and a few bent legs that I was able to straighten out.
