Ok, i want to remove one of my wiper arms because whoever put them on before i had the truck didnt get ti straight so it goes off the windshield when i use my wipers. Ive tried lifting up the little tab that rests on the shaft but it still wont come off. any other tips short of getting the actual tool to do it

You have to lift up the wiper arm, and also push that little tab away from the shaft with a flat head screwdriver; then pull.

I had the same problem as you, and it took me a good while to get it to pop off

You've got to pull the arm up while you've got the little tab pulled. Sometimes they get really stuck on there - try shooting some PB Blaster or WD40 in there and letting it set for a few hours then try pulling it off. After it's off, put a tiny bit of white grease on the shaft to prevent it from sticking again.

ok, i got it off, ended up using a screw driver under the edge of the arm and a wood block to lever it on. A couple of good smacks had it off.
