    Hello all.

As you can see in my other thread I am buying a new laptop... One thing I would like to achive with it is to be 100% wireless(in time)... Was wondering if there is such a thing as a wireless USB hub or my friend mentioned it maybe possible with Bluetooth...

It would be nice to have my printer set-up in the dining room or somewhere in the house and be able to print from the couch! :haha:

    Anyone?

You can get either wireless or bluetooth. Just get a wireless and hook it up to your network. Very simple and any computer store can hook you up.

See thats, the thing.. I dont have a network. Will only have my laptop and that is it... Thought about trying to piece together a crap tower just to use as a network... But for now it will just be the one laptop. :(

    When I do go with a router/firewall, I'll be getting a Linksys WRT54GL..

Get yourself a print server , hook into your router since all wireless routers also have the 4 regular ports as well . then your laptop will connect to the internet via your router , and see the printer on your "network"

Right now just via Cat5... But I'd like to go wireless and use the laptop anywhere in the house.

I'll go check on a print server. :thumb:

Bluetooth printers exist. Also, paralele to bluetooth adapters also exist and will turn any normal printer into bluetooth.

    both work quite well.

We have a wireless router hooked to our cable modem and it was wireless network ready so just a install the software on whichever computers want to use it and turn on the printer and they find it and print. It also scans wirelessly which is kinda cool, if a computers on it will ask which one you want to send it to, or you can store it to retrieve later.
